I never experience that “home” feeling more than when I am in the mountains. I went on a several day hiking trip with a friend and mid hike, when we stopped for lunch I grabbed a quick session. A little meditation and Ujjayi Pranayama then jumped into 20 minutes of simple asana to ease the sore quads. I love doing yoga outdoors but rarely find myself with a mat or towel to practice on and end up with pebbles or pine needles in my skin. Do you love yoga outdoors? Do you tend to prep beforehand or just find yourself in a place to find a moment of peace?

As spring awakes in the northeast all I can think is “take me back to the mountains.” To chatting with friends while you get a little lunch time yoga in after you scamper up a mountain. Next time I’m definitely packing a yoga mat up though.
